Zia Syed is an accomplished artist of South Asian descent based in Toronto. He has studied at prestigious institutions such as the OCAD University in Toronto and graduated from the Karachi School of Art and the National College of Arts in Lahore. Zia has showcased his solo and group exhibitions in both Pakistan and Canada.

Zia's artistic style blends traditional techniques with modern aesthetics. His paintings, prints, sculptures, and time-based works explore self-discovery, identity, memories, and socio-political issues.
In his recent work, he recalls his hometown's old architecture, which he once experienced as a child but was replaced by urbanization and no longer exists. He examines how fading memories help reconstruct a new physical space. His desolate, dark, and dreary small reliefs are first made as a solitary piece with clay and then cast and assembled together.
